# Quov documents: instructions for AI agents

Use this file when producing a printable Quov document: a proposal, an offer, a statement of work, a report or a letter. Load `quov-brand.en.md` first (https://quov.io/design-system/quov-brand.en.md); this file applies the brand to paper and never overrides it.

Logo files are listed in the brand file and served from `https://quov.io/design-system/logo/`. On paper use `quov-mark-light.svg` (white disc, black letters) or `quov-letters.svg` (letters only); if the tool only accepts bitmaps, the 1024 px PNG (`quov-mark-light-1024.png`). Never redraw the mark.

## Format

- **Source:** one self-contained HTML file. Inline CSS, the fonts below, no build step, no external scripts unless the document truly needs one.
- **Output:** the reader prints it or saves it as PDF from the browser.
- **Sheet:** US Letter, 8.5 × 11 in. Margins of 1 in on every side.
- **Theme:** paper only, whatever the reader's screen. Documents never use the dark theme.
- **Color:** none. Black text, gray hairlines, the mark in its light file or as letters only. No semantic colors, no highlight fills, no colored callouts.
- **Language:** the client's. Spanish with _tú_, English without contractions. A document in both languages ships as two complete files.
- **Publishing:** if a document is ever served from a URL, it carries `<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">`.

## Tokens

The paper values of the Quov palette. Copy this block as it is; never invent values.

```css
:root {
  color-scheme: light;
  --background: oklch(0.95 0.02 75); /* the desk around the sheet, on screen */
  --card: oklch(0.98 0.015 75); /* the sheet, on screen */
  --foreground: oklch(0.18 0.01 75); /* text and the header rule of a table */
  --muted-foreground: oklch(0.48 0.01 75); /* captions, running lines, table headers */
  --border: oklch(0 0 0 / 10%); /* hairlines */
  --font-heading: 'Aoboshi One', ui-serif, Georgia, serif;
  --font-sans: 'Geist', ui-sans-serif, system-ui, sans-serif;
  --font-mono: 'Geist Mono', ui-monospace, Menlo, monospace;
}
body {
  background: var(--background);
  color: var(--foreground);
  font: 400 10.5pt/1.5 var(--font-sans);
}
```

For tools that cannot take OKLCH (a word processor, slide software), the sRGB equivalents are: background `#F7EDE0`, card `#FFF7EE`, foreground `#14110D`, muted-foreground `#615D57`, border `#DED5CA`.

Fonts from Google Fonts:

```html
<link rel="preconnect" href="https://fonts.googleapis.com" />
<link rel="preconnect" href="https://fonts.gstatic.com" crossorigin />
<link
  rel="stylesheet"
  href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Aoboshi+One&family=Geist:wght@400..600&family=Geist+Mono:wght@400..500&display=swap"
/>
```

With a bundler, the Fontsource packages `@fontsource/aoboshi-one`, `@fontsource-variable/geist` and `@fontsource-variable/geist-mono` load the same families.

## Type on paper

| Element            | Setting                                                                      |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Title | Aoboshi One 400, 26 to 30 pt, once, on page one |
| Section heading    | Aoboshi One 400, 15 to 16 pt, under a mono index (`01`, `02`)                |
| Subheading         | Geist 600, 11 pt                                                             |
| Body               | Geist 400, 10.5 pt, line height 1.5                                          |
| Figures and labels | Geist Mono, 9 pt, tabular figures: amounts, dates, references, table headers |
| Running lines | Geist Mono, 7.5 pt, `--muted-foreground`: the legal name and the page number |

Aoboshi One has one weight: never bold or italic. Geist Mono never sets a sentence.

## Page structure

- **Page one:** there is no separate cover. The page opens with the lockup (the mark and "Quov" in Aoboshi One) at the top left and the document reference in mono at the top right (for example `QV-2026-014`). Then, with generous space above, a mono line with the document type and date, the title, and "Prepared for" with the client's name. The text starts below a hairline.
- **Sections:** each opens with its mono index and its heading. Number sections only when the document is long enough to need references.
- **Running lines:** a footer in mono 7.5 pt with "Quov S.A.S." on the left and the page number on the right; interior pages may carry the document name at the top.
- **Annexes:** each starts on a new page.
- **Signature block:** Quov S.A.S., then blank lines for the signatory's name, role and date, to be filled in by hand. Never invent or fill in a person's name.

## Tables and figures

Tables are ruled, never boxed.

- Header cells in Geist Mono 9 pt, `--muted-foreground`, over a 1 px `--foreground` rule. Rows divided by `--border` hairlines. No vertical rules, no fills, no zebra stripes.
- Figures right-aligned in Geist Mono with `font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums`. A totals row in 600 weight, without a box.
- **Amounts:** the currency code, then the figure with comma thousands and two decimals: `COP 12,500,000.00`, `USD 4,800.00`. The same format in both languages. Say whether an amount includes VAT (IVA).
- **Percentages:** two decimals in tables: `5.20%`.
- **Dates:** `25 Oct 2026` in tables; `25 October 2026` or `25 de octubre de 2026` in prose.
- **Durations:** in weeks.
- Statements of law or tax are flagged for validation by the client's accountant or lawyer, never presented as settled.

## Print rules

Content flows; nothing is cut.

```css
@page {
  size: letter;
  margin: 1in;
  @bottom-left {
    content: 'Quov S.A.S.';
    font:
      400 7.5pt 'Geist Mono',
      monospace;
    color: oklch(0.48 0.01 75);
  }
  @bottom-right {
    content: counter(page) ' / ' counter(pages);
    font:
      400 7.5pt 'Geist Mono',
      monospace;
    color: oklch(0.48 0.01 75);
  }
}
@media print {
  html,
  body {
    background: none;
  } /* the sheet is the paper */
}
thead {
  display: table-header-group;
} /* repeats on every page */
tr,
figure,
.keep {
  break-inside: avoid;
}
h1,
h2,
h3 {
  break-after: avoid;
}
.annex {
  break-before: page;
}
```

- On screen, show the sheet as a `--card` page on the `--background` desk; in print, the background is not printed.
- Never use fixed-height pages with `overflow: hidden`: text gets cut off when content grows.
- Table headers repeat on every page, rows never split, and a heading never sits alone at the bottom of a page.

## Content

- Say what is delivered, when, and how each delivery is accepted.
- State what Quov needs from the client (contacts, access, content, decisions) in its own section.
- Close with the validity of the offer and the next steps.
- Prices appear only in a document addressed to a specific client. Never internal costs, rates, margins or team size.
- No em dashes, no superlatives, no promises outside Quov's control, no figure without a source.

## Before you finish

1. Open the file in a browser and use print preview: nothing clipped, table headers repeat, no orphaned headings, page numbers present.
2. Check every figure against its source and confirm the totals add up.
3. Confirm the fonts loaded (Aoboshi One headings, not a fallback serif) and that nothing on the page has color.
4. Re-read for em dashes, contractions, _usted_ and invented names.
